{"id":4566,"date":"2014-03-13T09:18:45","date_gmt":"2014-03-13T13:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.local\/?p=4566"},"modified":"2014-03-13T09:18:45","modified_gmt":"2014-03-13T13:18:45","slug":"i-dont-know-much-about-art-but-i-know-what-i-like","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.local\/i-dont-know-much-about-art-but-i-know-what-i-like\/","title":{"rendered":"I don\u2019t know much about art but I know what I like"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"no\"?-->I was at SxSW last week and really enjoyed the Adam Savage (of Mythbusters fame) talk on Art and Science.<\/p>\n<p>He shared a story, that his father (a painter) said that this statement was the most profound about art.<\/p>\n<p>Art is only about what you like he said.<\/p>\n<p>I liked this &#8211; we can worry about whether what we like or not like is accepted across Art. \u00a0But really all that matters is what we do like, the commonality in our expression of the art is ourselves, we are the filter or curator of what we like.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what makes all our homes and personal spaces unique &#8211; it&#8217;s us as the filter to it.<\/p>\n<p>In a world of bits and bits it&#8217;s nice to know we can still put our own little stamp on the world. \u00a0Ironically that&#8217;s the exact point of art!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was at SxSW last week and really enjoyed the Adam Savage (of Mythbusters fame) talk on Art and Science.
