{"id":4601,"date":"2014-05-20T09:27:46","date_gmt":"2014-05-20T13:27:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.local\/?p=4601"},"modified":"2014-05-20T09:27:46","modified_gmt":"2014-05-20T13:27:46","slug":"leaks-driving-organisational-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.local\/leaks-driving-organisational-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Leaks driving organisational change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was really curious to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niemanlab.org\/2014\/05\/the-leaked-new-york-times-innovation-report-is-one-of-the-key-documents-of-this-media-age\/\" target=\"_blank\">leaks about the NY Times Innovation<\/a> last week. \u00a0It&#8217;s a good read, just for how real it is.<\/p>\n<p>The reality though, despite the content of the leaks, the act itself is going to drive change.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, internally, they are at a point of hey we need help to get the Times to see for itself and to get an outside perspective on how we need to change.<\/p>\n<p>This will be noted as either a moment in time whereby they turned the corner and hit their stride. \u00a0Or didn&#8217;t. \u00a0I&#8217;m confident it&#8217;ll be the former.<\/p>\n<p>The Times is able to attract some of the best &amp; the brightest &#8211; they just need to empower them to take the organisation where it needs to go.<\/p>\n<p>What I think they can forget, is that the world references what the Times are up to, I was in New Zealand the week before last and people were asking what the publishers were up to over here. \u00a0This is a great privilege but also a responsibility. \u00a0A responsibility to help guide &amp; lead the sector through the rapid changes in the market.<\/p>\n<p>The next six months should be interesting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was really curious to see the leaks about the NY Times Innovation last week. \u00a0It&#8217;s a good read, just for how real it is.
