{"id":5652,"date":"2018-01-30T15:49:06","date_gmt":"2018-01-30T02:49:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.local\/?p=5652"},"modified":"2018-01-30T15:49:06","modified_gmt":"2018-01-30T02:49:06","slug":"mobility-is-our-physicality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.local\/mobility-is-our-physicality\/","title":{"rendered":"Mobility is our physicality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This headline caught my eye last week:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2015\/6\/12\/8768827\/seniors-aging-car-driving\">Once seniors are too old to drive, our transportation system totally fails them<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The problem with (the headline) is, we leap to to the obvious conclusion, driverless cars are the solution here. It&#8217;s almost redundant for me to to say so.<\/p>\n<p>But we shouldn&#8217;t, we&#8217;ve made that leap without dwelling on the concept.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t discount the massive societal benefit of keeping a part of the population who want to be on the go, doing exactly that.<\/p>\n<p>By definition, they\u2019re seeing other people.<\/p>\n<p>So it is a 1+1=3 or 1+1=5.<\/p>\n<p>For every 100,000 you mobilize you could be touching or improving the lives of 500,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>I remember my grandma saying how good an idea uber was, for exactly this, a sense of independence was back.<\/p>\n<p>Uber issues aside- mobility is dignity, is family, is culture.<\/p>\n<p>This is one area where technology as progress is something we can all agree upon.<\/p>\n<p>..<\/p>\n<p>ps<\/p>\n<p>Do give the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2015\/6\/12\/8768827\/seniors-aging-car-driving\">article<\/a> a full read, or a Instapaper, or a pocket for later.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This headline caught my eye last week: Once seniors are too old to drive, our transportation system totally fails them The problem with (the headline) is, we leap to to the obvious conclusion, driverless cars are the solution here.
