Constant Preparation

August 12th, 2009

If you know me, you know I spend a lot of my time preparing, researching, asking questions, reviewing.

What I am doing is preparing for an eventuality, I know this will happen, not sure when, but when the opportunity pops up I want to be ready for it.

Then sure enough when the opportunity comes along I can leap. ย Should we all be in a constant state of preparation?

Thoughts?

As long as it doesn’t get in the way of doing! :p

No point in preparing if you never do anything once the opportunity arises!

I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes I find myself lost in the interwebs reading and researching but only because of this I’m able to react on things immediately. Example: a couple of hours after tr.im announced their shutdown I had a blog article ready which got re-tweeted quite a bit and resulted in two days of massive traffic on our website:

I was only able to do react that quick because I knew most of these services and basically just had to write everything down.

Yes. Preparation turns “luck” into “opportunity”.
